Insertion of rooflights at 22 Warriston Drive

The Society submitted an objection to this application to draw attention to the anomalous inclusion of these streets within the Conservation Area. The proposal would disrupt the visual continuity of the street elevation which would be contrary to the policy for the Conservation Area.

This type of work would not require a planning application if the property was not in a Conservation Area and applications such as this on houses in the Warriston Drive development are invariably approved as this one was. The Planning Officer expressed sympathy for the proposition that these properties should not have been included within the designated Conservation Area. The Society has drawn attention to the anomalous inclusion of this and other areas in our comments on the current review of the Inverleith Conservation Area.
